About me

For me, medicine is a way to connect with other people deeply. I share my knowledge to help solve problems and improve patients’ lives. I chose urogynecology because the issues we treat can profoundly impact a woman’s sense of self.

Urogynecology issues can cause suffering, expense, anxiety, difficulty with intimacy, and isolation. Pelvic floor disorders are important problems that we can treat. Older or younger, postpartum or not, women should seek care for these issues when they occur, rather than accepting they are normal conditions. I applaud patients for going out on a limb to raise these concerns. I work to identify each patient’s goals and partner with them to meet those goals together.

I love using pelvic floor exercises, medications, and simple at-home changes, to help women get relief from their symptoms. It is a great success when a woman can return to everyday life with comfort and control. Whenever possible, I view it as a particular success if we can achieve that goal without surgery. I am ready to provide surgical treatments when we need them.

Patients frequently tell me they feel heard and appreciate my thoroughness. They leave with a much better understanding of their condition and treatment options. Many patients say they wish they had made an appointment years before.
