About me
My clinical practice focuses on caring for pregnant and postpartum individuals with psychiatric illnesses, including substance use disorders. About one in five women experiences a mental illness during pregnancy or after giving birth. Many do not receive appropriate treatment because they lack access to reliable, evidence-based information about the reproductive safety of psychiatric treatments, including medications.
I have many years of experience in this subspecialty, which allows me to support patients during this joyful yet often challenging phase of life. I help them navigate the complex decisions surrounding psychiatric treatment during pregnancy and lactation.
I value the opportunity to connect with my patients and to understand their perspectives on their health care. Each person brings their own priorities and goals to the psychiatric treatment relationship, and I approach care with that in mind.
