About me
I entered the field of multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuroimmunology because the complexity of these conditions and the care they require appeal to me. People with MS have varied symptoms and are at different phases of their life at diagnosis and throughout their life. These factors require a patient-specific approach to choosing disease modifying therapies and identifying symptomatic treatments.
I like to establish a working relationship with each of my patients so that we can have open discussions about their condition. I use evidence-based medicine practices to help diagnose, counsel and treat my patients. I also like to talk with my patients about clinical research that has been done for MS and neuroimmunology. We are learning more all the time. By educating patients about their diagnosis and treatment options, and by including them in shared treatment decisions based on their particular circumstances, we work together to help them maintain or improve their functional abilities throughout their life.
