About me

People are very visual, and much of the brain is connected to vision. By studying how a patient sees, we can often find and track conditions that are hard to diagnose in other ways.

I care for the whole person. I take time to listen, learn about my patients’ concerns, and understand their goals. Neurological conditions often affect family and loved ones, too. When it’s helpful, and with the patient’s permission, I include them in conversations and decisions as part of a complete approach to care.

My goal is always to find problems early and treat them before they get worse. Sometimes the best care means managing symptoms and helping patients and families prepare for what’s ahead. When treatment isn’t possible, I focus on support and creating a care plan that respects what matters most to the patient.

I have been fortunate to learn from many excellent doctors, teachers, and patients throughout my career. Their examples inspire me in how I care for people and in my commitment to lifelong learning and teaching. I am grateful for the trust patients place in me and am honored to stand by them as their doctor and advocate.
