About me
In the Emergency Department (ED), determining a clear diagnosis is not always possible. I try to set expectations with my patients early. I let them know that I may not be able to "solve" the problem that brought them to the ED. I may not be able to tell them what, precisely, is wrong, but I work very hard to help them feel better and safer. Together, we can make a plan for the next steps that everyone is comfortable with.
I have completed subspecialty training as an emergency medical services (EMS) physician. In this role, I interact with ambulances and prehospital care teams. We strive to ensure a smooth transition into the hospital. Because of these experiences, I appreciate the challenges and the strain that uncertainty causes. I work very hard to be sure my patients feel cared for. Respecting a patient's wishes and autonomy, especially getting them home, is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
