It’s important to me that my patient and I make a good connection. I want to meet them where they are on their healthcare journey, and take care of them across their lifespan. I enjoy that I get to know patients, often to know their families. Patients say that I listen carefully, and that I show respect. No matter where patients come from or their role in life, they need to feel like they're being heard. I think success is building that partnership and having them take a role in their health care.

I value patient-centered care and the holistic care that patients need to both heal and manage chronic medical conditions. This is central to my practice. My previous roles in adult nursing and the neonatal intensive care unit uniquely position me to be astute and observant in helping my patients.

This is important work that I do, and doing it in the community where I live is very gratifying. I want to make sure that people are well taken care of, because those are the people I see at the grocery store. It feels really rewarding to me to be able to provide good care for them and their families.
