About me
I am amazed by the capabilities of the human body. The heights of human performance are simply astounding. But such achievements are rarely accomplished without significant challenges. Many of those challenges are the same whether you are a professional athlete or simply someone who loves to take walks in the morning. Injuries and pain can prevent anyone from living the life they enjoy. I chose to specialize in the fields of pain medicine and physiatry because I know the importance of a person's function on their love of life. I strive to help patients with the injuries and pain that keep them from living the life they desire.
My ultimate goal as a physician is to improve how well my patients live (also called the healthspan). A key part of a healthy life is the body's ability to move well, stay strong, and avoid serious pain. In short: how well you move defines how well you live. Pain, particularly chronic pain, acts as a barrier to the health of both the body and the mind, and thus is a barrier to a patient's healthspan. As a former collegiate athlete, exercise enthusiast, physiatrist, and pain specialist, I want to help patients remove or manage this barrier so they can regain control of their health.
When I’m not in the office I enjoy functional strength training, tennis, skiing, and hikes with my wife and goldendoodle.
