About me
Jason R. Blizzard, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in New Hampshire and Vermont. He completed his doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Georgia and also completed a master’s degree in counseling from Georgia Southern University.
Dr. Blizzard completed his doctoral internship at the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center and the University of New Mexico Hospital, both of which are in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He completed his postdoctoral training at Brown University, specializing in outpatient psychotherapy.
Dr. Blizzard then spent several years on the faculty at the University of Georgia engaging in the teaching and training of future psychologists, as well as maintaining a private practice in Athens, Georgia. In 2023, he joined the faculty of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and provides psychotherapy at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Dr. Blizzard has extensive experience working with diverse patients who come to therapy seeking to address a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use, and co-occurring mental and physical health concerns. He works from an integrative perspective based in a holistic approach to therapy, and incorporates cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based interventions. Dr. Blizzard has evening hours at Hanover Psychiatry.
