About me
It’s important to me that patients know their options. I explain complex medical terms and concepts in a patient-friendly language, and try to ensure that they truly understand what the treatment plan is and why I am ordering tests that are ordered. I may want to recommend all kinds of things, but it won’t go anywhere if it doesn't match up with what the patient wants or feels is important.
I grew up here in Winchester, and was interested in healthcare at an early age. When I was little, my mom was very sick so we spent a lot of time at the hospital. I saw what a caring impact nurses had, and also got a sense of differences in access to care. I am passionate about ensuring that all patients have access to quality care, regardless of where they live or their socioeconomic status. I like working in a remote setting because if my patients can't come here, they're not going to get care.
A successful outcome is when my patients feel like they have been heard. I want them to know that they matter, and that someone is looking out for their best interests. The best feedback I get is when a patient tells me that their family member told them to come see me. If my patients feel that they have an ally in their journey, that is a successful day.
