About me
I like to give patients options. I will share my guidance and recommendations, but that will be tempered with what they really want for themselves. With the same symptoms for a 40 year old patient and a 95 year old patient, my guidance would be very different. I'm easy to chat with, and I’m able to get the information I need from patients to make an accurate diagnosis.
I have always liked helping people, and medicine was the perfect conjunction between that and my love for science. I enjoy that family medicine offers a range of challenges, rather than doing one thing over and over. I work with kids, adults, hospice, everything from depression to heart failure to cancer. I don't want any of these things for any of my patients, of course, but we make the best of these situations together. Getting to know patients is its own reward.
I'm a fan of whatever works for patients. If they are diabetic and we can take care of their symptoms with changes at home and better diet and more exercise, then that's the best case scenario. If it takes using medications to feel better, that’s still a win. A successful outcome is when the patient feels better and they don't need a follow up appointment because they feel well.
