By listening closely and communicating with empathy, I let my patients know I care. When trusted loved ones are in the room, I involve them in the conversation. Together, we discuss the plan of care with clear, complete details. It’s important that my patients feel in control during the decision-making process and that family members know how to best help.

Achieving a patient’s full trust in my healthcare decisions is extremely rewarding. Yet the greatest experience is watching them walk out of the hospital feeling healthy again.
