About me
My family tree of physicians spans nine generations. For me, medicine is as much an honored profession as it is a family tradition. That fact serves as a constant reminder of how important the personal side of healthcare is.
I’m motivated by the intellectually challenging aspect of my work. Yet I also ask myself what I would do if the patient was a member of my family. I believe patients are not merely collections of their test results and symptoms. They are humans who can be fearful and hopeful, who are seeking relief and reassurance from physicians. That is why I am honest and transparent about my medical reasoning. I am always ready to explain test results and diagnoses in a thorough, organized and empathetic way. Putting myself in the shoes of patients and their loved ones helps me provide optimal care.
Working in hospital medicine requires technical skills, scientific knowledge and human understanding. When I successfully combine those skills and knowledge to not only diagnose and treat my patients’ medical issues, but also establish warm relationships, I’m satisfied.
