About me
I approach patient care as a partnership. My job is to provide patients information and help them understand what I understand. Their job is to do what makes the most sense for them with that information. I help them through the process of whittling down the confusing medical details to something that's more digestible. I like it when patients come in with lists of questions. That helps foster the communication that is so important in the patient-doctor relationship.
I find a great deal of pleasure in family medicine because I get to take care of everybody in the family, sometimes up to 4 generations. I get to follow people through all of the highs and lows of their lives. I also enjoy the scope of my practice. I get to be in all different clinical environments, and continue to learn about all different kinds of conditions and people. I'm never bored.
A successful outcome is where the patient feels like they've been heard, and they've had some control and autonomy in their care. It’s a privilege to be able to be allowed in someone's life, take care of them, and help them to navigate their healthcare. I take a great deal of pleasure in those relationships that I have with my patients, and in being with them on their health journey.
