About me
Through obesity care, we can treat many chronic issues by focusing on one chronic disease—obesity. I help my patients understand that obesity is a disease. Understanding this helps them accept that their circumstances aren't a personal failing. Like most chronic diseases, there are good treatment options. Accepting obesity as a disease and treating it like one, makes patients feel empowered and hopeful about their overall health.
A healthy weight is unique for each patient. It isn't just measured by numbers on a scale. It's a joy to partner with my patients to help them achieve their quality-of-life and health goals, which are the true indicators of healthy weight. In the Weight and Wellness Program, I work with a team of providers. Together, we diagnose and offer possible interventions to treat obesity and obesity-related symptoms. I love doing this work. Partnering with my patients on their journeys toward better health is a unique privilege.
