About me
Dr. Galanes is a graduate of the University of Vermont, where she earned her undergraduate degree in elementary education as well as her medical degree. After completing her residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center (then known as Fletcher Allen Health Care), Dr. Galanes became an assistant professor of internal medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where she worked until 2008. Dr. Galanes practiced internal medicine at Mount Ascutney Hospital from 2008 to 2015. She joined APD in January 2015 and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Prior to her medical career, Dr. Galanes was a distinguished athlete who served for three years on the Finnish national ski team, and was a two-time NCAA champion in cross-country skiing. She was inducted in the Athletic Hall of Fame at the University of Vermont in 1999.
