About me

Interventional Radiology (IR) was a new field when I was in medical school. IR interacts with many fields in medicine so I get to see many different types of patients which keeps medicine exciting and interesting. One of the rewarding parts of IR is that patients often feel their procedure was not as bad as they had feared. Also rewarding is helping physicians in other specialties that work with Interventional Radiology. I enjoy being part of a team and patients find different services working together helpful.

In meeting with patients I try to be clear and to set reasonable expectations. I avoid terms that might not be familiar and find analogies to help convey meaning that we both understand. I tell people what I plan and the limitations of what I can do.
