About me
I like to think of my approach to health care as a team project with patients. I'm an educator, so I make sure that they have all the information about options for making medical decisions. Every patient can make their own decision, but my job is to help them make educated decisions. When you involve people in their health care decisions, they're more apt to stick to them and follow through.
Family medicine is a great fit for me, because I like getting to know people. I like people and I love talking to them. I like the continuity of being a primary care provider. Preventative medicine is something I focus on with every visit, whether a patient's here for a sinus infection or something more involved. I always make sure we're keeping people up to date with preventive care.
People are looking for help when they come to us, and they just need somebody to listen. Patients want to be heard. They appreciate when you try and understand what it is that they're trying to get out of the visit. In medicine, we’re often very numbers-driven, and numbers are important because we have to have some way to quantify how patients are doing. But I look at people as the whole picture. Ultimately, we're trying to help people achieve wellness and feel good mentally and physically.
