About me

My motivation in pursuing obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) stems from my fascination with genetics. I am passionate about taking care of women in all stages of their life. Inequities still exist for underrepresented women in medical research and insurance coverage. I enjoy working with women to optimize their health. We use preventive care, lifestyle modifications, and optimized medical and surgical intervention.

My philosophy includes shared decision-making with the patient about their medical issues and goals. I will provide the best care possible, always supported by the medical evidence. I provide them with all options, including pros and cons, and help them make the most appropriate decision.

One of my areas of expertise is robotic gynecologic surgery. This approach allows patients to avoid a larger incision and minimizes postoperative pain. It reduces the need for opioid pain medication and facilitates greater mobility. This technique is successful for women who have suffered from pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, or an enlarged fibroid uterus.

I served for 21 years on active duty in the United States Army. I was stationed at seven duty stations worldwide, including a one-year combat deployment in Mosul, Iraq, in 2004. My last duty station was Fort Hood, Texas, where I served as the department chief in OB/Gyn at Darnall Army Medical Center. I retired as a Colonel from the military in October 2020. I am excited to join Cheshire Medical Center as the OB/GYN Department Chair.
